The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its positive momentum on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining over 3,600 points.
At close, the benchmark index settled at 168,514.44, an increase of 3,683.02 points or 2.23%.
Buying interest was seen across major sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, OMCs, power generation, and refineries. Index-heavy stocks such as KML, HUBCO, MARI, OGDC, PPL, and UBL traded in positive territory, contributing to the overall bullish trend.
On Wednesday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) maintained its upward momentum as improving investor confidence triggered strong buying activity across key sectors, pushing the benchmark index further into the green zone.
The KSE-100 Index surged by 1,934.74 points, or 1.19%, to close at 164,831.42 points.
Meanwhile, oil prices rose by more than 1% on Thursday, recovering from earlier losses as investors closely tracked ongoing peace talks between the United States and Iran. Supply concerns and a drawdown in U.S. crude inventories also supported prices.
Brent crude futures increased by $1.27, or 1.21%, to reach $106.29 per barrel at 0618 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures gained $1.29, or 1.31%, trading at $99.55 per barrel.
