The Punjab government has imposed a 30-day ban on several activities near airports and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) bases across the province under Section 144, citing security concerns and risks to flight operations.
According to a notification issued by the Home Department on May 19, authorities received credible information indicating that activities such as pigeon flying, the use of laser lights, and throwing meat or sadqa in open areas could endanger aircraft operations and aviation assets.
Officials warned that these actions may attract birds or create visual disturbances, posing serious threats to flights and public safety.

Under the restrictions, pigeon homing has been prohibited, while hotels, shopping malls, shops, and other businesses have been barred from using laser lights near sensitive aviation zones.
Moreover, people have been banned from throwing meat on rooftops or in open spaces around these areas.
The restrictions apply within a 13-kilometer radius of all commercial airports and PAF bases in Punjab. The Home Department said the measures were necessary to maintain public safety, protect lives and property, and prevent any disruption to aviation operations.
