Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) hit an all-time high on Thursday as the benchmark KSe-100 Index gained 2849.29 points to close at 168,489.62 points, against 165,640.33 points in the previous session.
This strong bullish trend has continued in the stock market for the last four days, and during this period, the market has gained over 6,000 points.

Gold prices witnessed a drop of Rs2500 per tola in Pakistan on Thursday, while the price of the yellow metal also declined in the international market. As per the data shared by the All Pakistan Sarafa Jems and Jewelers Association, the price of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 2500 per tola to Rs 407778, and the price of 10grams of 24 karat gold dropped by Rs 2144 to Rs 349603. Buying interest was observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies, and OMCs. Index-heavy stocks, including MARI, POL, SNGPL, SSGC, HBL, and UBL, traded in the green.
A total of 775,335,486 shares were traded during the day compared to 1,639,021,153 shares the previous day, whereas the share value stood at Rs 52.529 billion against Rs 69.66 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 489 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, out of which 239 recorded gains, 227 sustained losses, and 23 remained unchanged.
On Wednesday, PSX closed on a mixed yet steady note as volatile intraday movements kept investors cautious. The benchmark KSE-100 Index settled at 165,640.34 points, gaining 146.75 points or 0.09%.
