Due to a protest at Kathore on the Super Highway, the road has been closed, halting the delivery of goods across the country, as reported by national media.
According to a recent report, the Kathore Super Highway in Karachi is closed due to a protest, causing long lines of vehicles on the highway.
In this regard, Goods Transporters Association leader Fazal Jadun stated that vehicles have been stuck for four days, resulting in the suspension of deliveries starting today. The delivery of goods from Karachi to the entire country has been completely halted. He said that the delivery of goods to and from both ports is also suspended.
Notably, active transportation and the transportation of goods are both vital components of a country’s economic and social infrastructure. Active transportation, which includes walking, cycling, and other non-motorized means of travel, promotes public health, reduces traffic congestion, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions.
By encouraging more sustainable and accessible modes of mobility, cities can improve the quality of life for residents, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and create safer, more livable communities. Moreover, investing in infrastructure for active transportation can enhance connectivity between neighborhoods and foster greater social inclusion.
