KARACHI: President Arif Alvi on Wednesday met with Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at the Governor’s House in Karachi.
They discussed a range of issues including the situation emerging after the recent devastating rainfall in Karachi and subsequent relief efforts.
The governor briefed the president on the development projects and the Karachi Transformation Plan announced by the federal government last week.
Earlier, President Dr. Arif Alvi had appreciated the package of Rs1.1 trillion for Karachi, stating that further discussion on the needs of Sindh is a welcome response.
In a tweet on Sunday, he said rains have devastated Karachi, the biggest taxpayer of the country, and reviving its economy rests on its infrastructure, water supply, rain drains and sewage.
He said the earnest cooperation of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf cooperation can do wonders to lift the city out of misery.
