The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has dissolved all committees formed for negotiations with PML-N over power sharing and decided that the President of Pakistan will now negotiate with the Prime Minister on this matter.
According to media, the PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting has concluded, and the party has dissolved all committees for negotiations with PML-N.
Sources have reported that the authority to negotiate the power-sharing formula with PML-N has been given to the President of Pakistan, who will now discuss the matter with the Prime Minister.
The meeting participants also expressed concerns over the federal government’s move to impose an agricultural tax. The CEC proposed reducing the agricultural tax from 45% to 20%.
In addition, PPP members in the CEC meeting discussed the PECA (Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act) amendment bill in detail and stated that the party should adopt a clear stance on the government’s amendments to the PECA Act.
Earlier, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has stated that if any institution other than Parliament repeals the 26th Constitutional Amendment, it will not be accepted by anyone.
