ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested a suspect for allegedly harassing and torturing two women who had overtaken his vehicle.
The incident occurred yesterday within the limits of Karachi Company area when an influential man attacked two women for overtaking his vehicle.
Police sprang into action and arrested the suspect Jehangir from his residence within two hours and filed a case. The suspect is the son a bureaucrat while the police have also confiscated the vehicle.
The suspect was arrested with assistance from CCTV footage from the Safety City Project. Several influential officers and traders are scrambling to prevent filing an FIR against the suspect.
The victims have urged police to provide protection as the suspect belongs to an influential family and has threatened them. They appreciated the filing of the case and arrest of the suspect and demanded to be given justice.
