GUJRANWALA: A four-year-old girl was allegedly burnt alive by her family members in the Arup area of Gujranwala over suspicions of black magic and possession by jinn, police said the other day.
According to information gathered by MM News from local police and other multiple sources, the incident came to light after authorities received information about the child’s death, prompting an immediate response. Four suspects, including the girl’s mother, were taken into custody and a case was registered.
The arrested suspects were identified as the child’s mother, her brothers Haseeb and Muneeb, and her sister, Muzammil Bibi.
Police said preliminary investigations suggested that the family allegedly set the girl on fire after suspecting that she was affected by black magic or possessed by jinn.
Investigators said the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident were still being examined, adding that the suspects remained in police custody for further interrogation.
Police said the investigation was continuing from multiple angles to establish the facts of the case.
