ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of the National Economic Council will be held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Development plans for the new financial year will be reviewed in the meeting of the National Economic Council chaired by the prime minister.
Federal ministers and four provincial chief ministers will participate in the meeting. According to the sources, the development budget for the new financial year has been proposed to be Rs2659 billion.

In the meeting, Chief Ministers and officials will give a briefing on their respective development budgets. Speaking to foreign media earlier, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the government has been able to deal with economic challenges through the help of friendly countries.
The Prime Minister said that the PTI chairman facing charges of serious corruption and illegal transactions will be dealt with according to law.
He said that Pakistan and Turkey will promote trade and mutual cooperation in the biogas, solar energy, and hydropower sectors in the future.
