ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while presiding over the federal cabinet meeting, rejected the summary regarding the increase in the prices of medicines.
According to the details, the meeting of the federal cabinet under the chairmanship of the prime minister started today during the day while the approval of the recent decisions of other cabinet committees including ECC is also part of the agenda of the meeting.

During the federal cabinet meeting, PM Shehbaz Sharif rejected the summary of the increase in the prices of medicines, as a result of which there is no possibility of an immediate increase in the prices of medicines available to the public.
It should be noted that earlier, PM Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the shortage of essential medicines in the country and ordered an investigation into the matter. A report was sought from the federal and provincial governments on the shortage of medicines.

In the letter written to the authorities two months ago, it was said that 60 essential medicines are not available in the country, and important medicines for psychological, mental, heart, and other diseases are currently missing from Pakistan. All federal and provincial drug regulatory authorities should investigate and report promptly.
