PM pays tribute to NCOC, Ehsaas, and SPB for COVID-19 response

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated the concerned authorities for securing a prominent position in the list of countries controlling coronavirus.

In a message on Twitter, the prime minister wrote that he would congratulate the NCOC members, the Ehsas Program team, and the SBP for their effective response to the virus.

“Congratulations to NCOC members, Ehsaas team & State Bank of Pakistan for effective response to Covid 19 pandemic; and above all thanks to the mercy of Almighty Allah,” he wrote. In the post, the prime minister said that he was most thankful to Allah Almighty that Pakistan has succeeded in gaining a prominent place in the list of the best countries to control the coronavirus.

The International Economist has ranked Pakistan as the third most important country and region in the world after Hong Kong and New Zealand, based on scoring against the virus. In India, Coronavirus’ situation is extremely bad, with a score of 46.5, it is ranked 48th on the list. China’s score was 72.9 which managed to get 19th place in the list, Pakistan was ahead of the neighboring countries.

According to a report published by The Economist, Pakistan’s score was 84.4 which is ranked third on the list. The United States ranks 20th on the list with a score of 72.8. Nigeria is the next most important country after Pakistan.

It may be recalled that earlier 1,517 new cases of Corona were reported in Pakistan while 17 more civilians died in the last 24 hours.

According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 966,007 people were infected with corona across the country, while 22,469 civilians lost their lives due to the virus.
