ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will give need-based Ehsaas undergraduate scholarships to the first batch of deserving students on Monday (today).
According to the Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division, 24 billion rupees would be spent on this four-year programme to support two hundred thousand students, half of them girls, from low-income backgrounds.
As part of the poor-friendly Ehsaas programme scholarships policy, 2 percent of scholarships will be solely awarded to students with special needs.
Overall, under the largest-ever Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program, fifty thousand scholarships will be given to undergraduates each year to enhance financial access to higher education for the deserving students.
