ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reappointed Shehryar Afridi as the Minister of State for Narcotics Control.
The prime minister had recently taken back the portfolio from Shehryar Afridi following the wheat and sugar crisis report but he was reappointed today.
The prime minister, two days ago, changed the portfolios of key federal ministers in a major cabinet reshuffle. Mohammad Shahzad Arbab was removed as Advisor to the Prime Minister on accountability while Amin ul Haq was appointed as Federal Minister for Telecom, and Azam Swati as Federal Minister for Narcotics Control.
The changes came after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented two separate reports on its inquiries into the sugar and wheat crises in the country. The full report of the inquiry into a sugar-export subsidy scam is due to be published on 25th April.
