DAVOS: Prime Minister Imran Khan in a breakfast ceremony said that nations without a vision die.
While attending a breakfast ceremony in Davos, Imran Khan said that corrupt status was also an issue in Pakistan.
The prime minister while quoting his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir bin Mohamad, said, “Mahathir says to be patient. I say ghabrana nahin hai (Do not panic).”
He also advised people to not read newspapers as they twist the statements.
Imran Khan said, “The stay in Davos is quite expensive and I did not want government money to be spent on that so my trip is sponsored by Akram Sehgal and Mohammad Imran.”
Speaking about his life and career, the prime minister said that at the time he began his career as a cricketer, he realized that there were far more talented cricketers than him.
He said, “Initially, I was dropped off from the team and it took me three years to get back. I believe that by competing at the international level you learn the most valuable lessons of life and one of them is the ability to face bad times.”
Speaking of his social work, the prime minister said that he built Namal University in Mianwali to provide quality education to deprived sections of society. “Namal is associated with Bradford and I am proud to say that we are providing international level education in a rural area of Pakistan,” he said.
Imran Khan is on a three-day official trip to Switzerland. He was invited by the Founder and Chairman of World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwabe. The prime minister is set to deliver a keynote at the session.
