PM appoints Dr Faisal Sultan as SAPM on Health

ISLAMABAD: CEO of Shaukat Khanum Hospital Dr. Faisal Sultan has been appointed as Prime Minister’s special assistant on health.
Prime Minister Imran Khan himself appointed Dr. Faisal Sultan as his special assistant on health. He will have the status of a federal minister in his new position.
Earlier, Dr. Faisal was serving as prime minister’s lead and the focal person on COVID-19. He replaced Dr. Zafar Mirza who last week resigned from his designation.
Mirza announced the news on a social media website Twitter and wrote that he left the World Health Organisation (WHO) and came to Pakistan on a personal invitation from the prime minister. He said he is satisfied that he is leaving at a time when COVID-19 has declined in the country.
He further said, “It was a privilege to serve Pakistan. I am satisfied that I leave at a time when COVID-19 has declined in Flag of Pakistan as a result of a grand national effort”.
