Talking to media here, he accused Saqib Nisar, the former Chief Justice of Pakistan, of leading the campaign to disqualify Nawaz Sharif on baseless allegations and working as an agent of Imran Niazi to defeat Nawaz Sharif. He also stated that the recent audio leaks revealed the conspiracy to bring Imran Niazi to power by any means, adding that the National Assembly should hold elections on the same day according to the constitution and that the Parliament’s right to legislate cannot be taken away.
It may be mentioned here that Nawaz Sharif had left Pakistan in 2019 under the pretext of seeking treatment abroad, and he is yet to return to Pakistan despite his brother in power for more than a year. Pakistani courts have declared him a proclaimed offender for failing to respond to several summons.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the right of the constitution belongs to the Parliament and cannot be taken away. He alleged that a conspiracy against Pakistan was being hatched by holding elections only in Punjab, advocating for simultaneous general elections across the country.
Shehbaz Sharif further claimed that an audio leak exposed former CJP Saqib Nisar as a PTI agent, who played a key role in Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification, causing harm to the country. On the other hand, Saqib Nisar denied the false allegations and misused his right of taking Suo Motu, while failing to take it in any case of public interest.
