ISLAMABAD: The government has revised fuel levies, cutting the petrol levy while increasing the diesel levy with immediate effect.
According to Petroleum Division documents, the petrol levy has been reduced by Rs9.24 per litre, bringing it down from Rs116.08 to Rs106.24 per litre.
In contrast, the diesel levy has been increased by Rs8.67 per litre, raising it from Rs44.59 to Rs53.26 per litre.
The levy on kerosene oil remains unchanged at Rs20.36 per litre, the documents added.
Earlier, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre and diesel by Rs2 per litre for the next week.
According to the Ministry of Petroleum, the price of petrol was cut to Rs373.78 per litre following the reduction, while the price of high-speed diesel was lowered to Rs378.78 per litre.
