ISLAMABAD: As many as 26 passengers were offloaded at the Islamabad International airport over showing fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
At Islamabad Airport, 26 Saudi-bound passengers were offloaded due to fake corona vaccine certificates. The passengers were travelling to Saudi Arabia via Air Blue flight PA 2744.
The management said that the passengers were offloaded due to fake vaccination certificates, boarding cards had been issued to the
passengers due to negligence of the staff of the private airline, but the vaccination certificates are checked before the boarding cards
are issued.
Saudi Arabia has made the vaccination certificate mandatory.
It is to be noted that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a crackdown against the individuals involved in the issuance of fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
Briefing the media in Islamabad, Director-General FIA Sanaullah Abbasi said 41 people involved in this illegal and immoral activity were apprehended over the last two months and FIRs had been registered against them.
The DG FIA said action is also being taken as per the law against those who acquired the fake certificates. “The details of those who issued fake vaccination certificates are also being collected. The FIA has summoned some of them, while others will also be called soon,” he added.
The decision came days after the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) ordered the FIA to act against individuals involved in preparing fake COVID vaccination certificates.
