In an alarming incident that recently took place in Karachi, a gliding club that offers paragliding to citizens of the Sindh capital has recently put a life in danger due to a life-threatening accident.
The incident took place this weekend at Karachi Gliding Club when a woman fell into the water while paragliding. Unfortunately due to no rescue team present on the spot, she was saved after 7 to 8 minutes of staying in the water by some random people who were in their boat.
During this time, there was no rescue team present or prompt emergency response from the HMR staff. The absence of a timely rescue in such a life-threatening situation has raised eyebrows. This incident has put the woman in dire consequences as she is now fighting for her life in the ICU, as per social media.

One of the social media users claimed both paragliding activities are being conducted by different companies. The green parachute belongs to the Karachi Gliding Club.
According to the user, even when she was there for the activity, their parachute didn’t open once, and then, during the two attempts, their landings weren’t proper either. “They were just hovering above the water, and their altitude was much higher compared to the other one,” she notified.
So before going for any of these adventurous activities being held in Karachi, people should double-check the safety measures taken by the management. We all remember the Askari Park incident that claimed the life of a teenage girl in 2018.
