KARACHI: Renowned Pakistani personalities took to social media to condemn the terrorist attacks in Kabul which have so far left over 30 people killed.
On Tuesday, at least 14 people were killed in one of the two attacks when gunmen stormed a maternity hospital in the Afghan capital, followed by a suicide attack an hour later on a funeral which left at least 24 dead.
On a social media website Twitter, the leaders expressed grief and extended condolences over the loss of innocent lives in the barbaric attacks.
Social activist and Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai strongly condemned the attacks and appealed for a global ceasefire amid the COVID-19 epidemic.

Several other politicians from all across Pakistan also took to twitter to express dejection over the incident.

In this regard, Pakistani cricket star Shahid Afridi also denounced the incident, referring to it as ‘barbarianism’ in the holy month of Ramadan.

Foreign Office has strongly condemned terrorist attacks on a medical facility in Kabul and on a funeral in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The FO Spokesperson in a statement issued said Pakistan condemns inhuman and cowardly terrorist attacks, which resulted in the loss of precious human lives.
It further said these terrorist acts are particularly despicable as they take place in the holy month of Ramazan and at a time when Afghanistan is grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and will continue to support a peaceful and stable Afghanistan,” the spokesperson added.
The statement extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of victims and prayers for early recovery for those injured. It said, “our thoughts and prayers are also with the Afghan people in this hour of grief.”
