Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Engr. Aniq Ahmed, has said that the current year’s Hajj will prove to be an exemplary Hajj in terms of facilities for Pakistani pilgrims. For the first time in the country’s history, the facility of a short-term Hajj has been provided in Pakistan.
Addressing the inaugural session of the training session for pilgrims at the Hajj camp in Lahore, Federal Minister Engr. Aniq Ahmed said that the pilgrims are the guests of Allah and ours as well. Through a transparent system, lucky pilgrims have been selected for Hajj through a lucky draw among the applicants, whose training has already started since February 12.
He said that when I took over the ministry, I made it clear to everyone that in 2024, we will provide the best facilities to Pakistani pilgrims. The facilities that were not available in the past will be available to this year’s pilgrims.
According to Engr. Aniq Ahmed, wherever problems regarding Hajj arrangements have been identified, the ministry has worked with full diligence, and during the visit to Saudi Arabia, an assessment of the facilities provided to the pilgrims was made, and all basic necessities including accommodation, meals, and transportation facilities were found to be standard.
Regarding the provision of transportation facilities to Pakistani pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs mentioned that this year, pilgrims will have the facility of both buses and trains for visiting the holy sites.
He further mentioned that we are providing pilgrims with a green-colored suitcases with QR codes so that their belongings do not get lost. Additionally, seven GB data with 180 international calling minutes will also be provided to the pilgrims for free so that they can easily communicate with their loved ones.
