KARACHI: Chinese Consul-General Li Bijian has said that Pakistan made the best decision to not bring back its students from China.
While addressing an event in Karachi, Li Bijian said that the coronavirus has been controlled while Pakistanis in China were being well taken care of. Everything possible steps were being taken to cope with the disease, he added.
Bijian also said that China would support Pakistan at every turn, “We are ready to help Pakistan in this situation.”
Earlier on 18th February, a two-member special task force from Pakistan Embassy Beijing visited Wuhan city to meet Pakistani students of different universities.
Chinese authorities allowed the officials on the request of Pakistan so the members can get first- hand information on their well- being and safety.
The task force is permanently deployed in Wuhan and coordinating with Chinese authorities. The task force would return to their homes in Beijing once the lockdown in Wuhan is lifted in its entirety and the on-ground situation is completely stabilized.
The officials visited Pakistani students in four universities. They also met administrative staff in each university to get first-hand information on the well being and needs of our students.
Since the first day of the lockdown of Hubei Province due to coronavirus infection, the Embassy of Pakistan has played an active role to provide the utmost facilitation to Pakistani students in Hubei Province in particular, and China in general.
Three Pakistani students in Guangzhou city and one in Wuhan who were infected by the coronavirus infection have fully recovered and discharged from the hospitals.
