Pakistan Army marks three years of Operation ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army is marking the third anniversary since the start of operation ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’ aimed to combat terrorism and secure the nation’s borders.
In a series of tweets, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated the operation completed three years and was launched by Pakistan Army across the country after terrorist sanctuaries in the former tribal areas were neutralised.
Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that gains made during the past two decades of the war on terror will be consolidated to achieve enduring peace and stability for Pakistan and the wider region.
“Operation aims at indiscriminately eliminating residual/latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders,” the army chief was quoted by the ISPR.
Terming the journey from ‘Terrorism to Tourism’, the army paid tribute to the martyrs and the sacrifices rendered by security forces in achieving stability and peace in the country. 
The military’s press wing said the residual and latent threat of terrorism was eliminated ‘indiscriminately ‘ and the effort was backed by the entire nation. It added that the successes were achieved at a “monumental cost paid in men and material”.
The military also appreciated the citizen’s support to the armed forces, and praised the nation for being resilient and defeating the extremist ideology,
