LAHORE: Senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that the country was on the brink of being declared as default if the International Monetary Fund (IMF) doesn’t pay money soon.

Talking to media at the Lahore High Court premises, Fawad Chaudhry further claimed that the IMF had demanded of Pakistan to stall its long-range missile program, and that after ruining the economy, finance minister Ishaq Dar was now playing with the security of the country.
Moments earlier, Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that “I have been told (at fairly senior level) that this statement by Ishaq Dar is unfortunate and sabotage of IMF/Pak relationship,Dar is playing havoc with Pak Economic and Security paradigms.

The PTI leader while talking to reporters went on alleging that Miftah Ismail, former finance minister from PMLN, started ruining the ‘destructive’ program for Pakistan’s economy, and the same was being accomplished by Ishaq Dar. He predicted that the present economic team (of Pakistan) would fail to strike deal with the IMF, adding that Pak relation with the monetary institutions and countries suffered set back due to the behavior of Ishaq Dar.

Referring to Lahore situation, Fawad Chaudhry said Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh played key role in restoring peace in the city, “for which we are thankful.” Chaudhry had earlier hinted that during yesterday’s negotiations with the Punjab administrations, it had been agreed to resolve the issues and a solution to this effect would be presented in the court of Justice Tariq Sheikh today.
