KARACHI: Another 36 people have died in Pakistan due to the coronavirus and the total number of deaths has reached 8,832.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 2,362 new cases were reported in the country and the total number has risen to 440,787.
In Pakistan, 384,719 coronavirus patients have recovered and 47,236 are undergoing treatment. The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was in Punjab where 3,365 people lost their lives while Sindh lost 3,158, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,371, Islamabad 368, Gilgit-Baltistan 99, Balochistan 175 and Azad Kashmir 191.

The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 34,840, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 52,449, Sindh 1,95,702, Punjab 1,27,541, Balochistan 17,745, Azad Kashmir 7,719 and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,791. Nationwide, the rate of coronavirus cases rose to 7.9 percent. Karachi coronavirus positive case rate is 17.39 percent.
According to the NCOC, the rate of positive cases in Hyderabad was 18.43 percent. Azad Kashmir has 10.83 percent, Balochistan 11.62 percent, Gilgit-Baltistan 2.68 percent, Islamabad 6.16 percent, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 11.29 percent, and Sindh 11.47 percent.
According to the NCOC, the rate of positive cases in Punjab is 4.42. The rate of positive cases in Lahore was 5.47 percent and in Rawalpindi, it was 11.26 percent. The rate of positive cases in Peshawar was 16.2, in Quetta 6.19, and in Mirpur 22 percent.
