KARACHI: Renowned religious scholar, Maulana Tariq Jamil, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus today (Sunday).
Taking to Twitter, the scholar announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 after he felt mild symptoms and was feeling down. He further informed that on the directives of doctors he has been admitted to hospital.
The renowned scholar also urged his admirers and loved ones to pray for his health. Tariq Jamil also shared a positive message for all his admirers. “Those who stay positive leave longer impact of their efforts,” he wrote.
Maulana Tariq Jamil continuously named as one of The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world by the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought in Jordan from 2013 to 2019. The religious scholar stood 40th of a list ranking the world’s most “influential” Muslims in 2019.
The second wave of the pandemic continues to take its toll as 72 more people died of coronavirus in the country during the last twenty-four hours. According to National Command and Control Centre, 3,369 people tested positive during this period after tests of 42,222 people.
