KARACHI: A further 58 deaths and 1,262 new cases have been reported in Pakistan due to the coronavirus.
According to the National Command and Control Center, the total number of deaths from coronavirus in Pakistan has reached 12,276 while the total number of affected people has reached 560,363.
In the country, 518,164 people have recovered from coronavirus and the number of patients undergoing treatment is 25,649. The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was in Punjab where 4,994 people lost their lives while 4,183 in Sindh, 1,980 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 483 in Islamabad, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 197 in Balochistan and 279 people have lost their lives in Azad Kashmir.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 42,401, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 69,164, in Sindh 252,719, in Punjab 162,875, in Balochistan 18,916, in Azad Kashmir 9,359 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4 A total of 929 people have been infected with the coronavirus.

During the second wave of coronavirus, positive cases dropped significantly to 3.9 percent. The situation is back to pre-November 10 levels. According to the National Command and Operations Center, the positive coronavirus case rate in Karachi is 10.68 percent. The rate of positive cases in Islamabad is 1.18 percent, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5.25 percent, in Punjab 5.97 percent, and in Sindh 10.23 percent.
In Azad Kashmir, the positive cases of coronavirus are 5.97 percent, in Balochistan 3.52 percent, and in Gilgit-Baltistan 0.56 percent. Coronavirus vaccination is underway in Pakistan and in the first phase, health workers are being vaccinated against the virus.
