ISLAMABAD: The coronavirus has claimed one life in Pakistan, bringing the total number to 6,284.
According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the country reported 319 new coronavirus cases over the previous 24 hours across Pakistan. The number of active coronavirus cases has gone down to 8,748 as 280,340 patients have recuperated from the disease. 1,084 patients are under treatment in 735 hospitals across the country, out of whom 112 are on vents.
The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 129,179, 96,699 in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 35,971, Islamabad 15,597, Balochistan 12,804, Azad Kashmir 2,290 and in Gilgit the number of coronavirus cases is 2,832.
The coronavirus has caused 2,195 deaths in Punjab and 2,395 in Sindh. The death toll from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 1,250, Islamabad 175, Balochistan 141, Gilgit-Baltistan 67, and Azad Kashmir 61.
Pakistan has removed nearly all of its restrictions as part of a partial lockdown last week. Restaurants, cinemas, and gyms have been reopened but educational institutions and wedding venues will remain closed until 15th September.
Pakistan has so far conducted 2,559,261coronavirus tests and 23,483 in the last 24 hours. 279,937 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 644 patients are in critical condition.
