ISLAMABAD: A total of 3,019 new cases of coronavirus have been reported across the country while five more people have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), a total of 1,312,267 people were infected with coronavirus across the country while 28,992 people lost their lives to the virus.
During the last 24 hours, 49,270 tests were performed to diagnose coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 23,984,502. Across the country, the coronavirus test result was 6.12 percent while 651 patients are in intensive care.
In the last 24 hours, coronavirus was defeated by 346 people across the country, bringing the total number of recovering people to 1,260,045. The active cases of the virus are 23,230 while the death rate remains at 2.2 percent.
The highest number of coronavirus cases were reported in Sindh while deaths were reported in Punjab. In Punjab, 449,843 people fell victim to the virus while 13,084 died. In Sindh, 491,743 cases and 7,691 deaths were reported from the virus.
In different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 181,906 people fell victim to coronavirus while 5,948 died. In Balochistan, 33,675 cases of the virus were reported while 367 civilians lost their lives.
In Azad Kashmir, 34,719 people were infected with coronavirus and 749 died. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 10,437 cases and 186 deaths were reported. In Islamabad, 1,99,944 citizens were infected with coronavirus and 967 died.
