ISLAMABAD: The coronavirus has killed 45 more people in Pakistan and brought the total death toll to 7,942.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 3,045 new cases have been reported and the total number of victims has risen to 392,356.
In Pakistan, 337,553 coronavirus patients have recovered and 46,861 are undergoing treatment. The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 29,427, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 46,604, in Sindh 170,206, in Punjab 117,898, in Balochistan 17,046, in Azad Kashmir 6,556 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4,619 people have been infected with the coronavirus.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus is in Punjab where 2,960 people have lost their lives. 2,897 people have lost their lives in Sindh, 1,355 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 307 in Islamabad, 97 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 165 in Balochistan, and 161 in Azad Kashmir.

The second wave of coronavirus has started in Pakistan and SOPs will have to be strictly followed to deal with it. The government of Pakistan has imposed strict restrictions in 16 major cities till 31st January 2021 and educational institutions have been closed once again.
Provincial governments have been directed to make SOPs and masks mandatory in markets, shopping malls, public transport, restaurants. Citizens are advised to wear masks when leaving their homes. Masks must be worn by those working in government and private sector offices.
