Lahore: Pakistan Railways has announced a schedule change for the 40 Down Jaffer Express traveling from Peshawar to Quetta, effective from February 20, 2026.
The train will now depart from Peshawar Cantt at 6:00 AM instead of the previous 7:00 AM. Additionally, the stopping times at all stations along the route have been adjusted one hour earlier.
The train is now expected to reach Quetta at 3:40 PM, an hour earlier than its previous arrival time of 4:40 PM.
Passengers who have booked tickets for travel on February 20 or later are advised to arrive at the station one hour earlier than the time printed on their tickets.
Travelers can also use the Pakistan Railways “Track My Train” application for real-time guidance and updates.
Pakistan Railways stated that the change has been made due to administrative reasons and affects only the 40 Down Jaffer Express from Peshawar to Quetta.
The return train, 39 Up Jaffer Express from Quetta to Peshawar, will continue to operate on its existing schedule.
