Pakistan Railways has notified a significant discount on the fares for three days of the Eidul Fitr.
According to the notification, a 20% discount will be given on fares during Eid-ul-Fitr. The discount will apply to all mail, express, and intercity trains for the first three days of Eid. However, this special offer will be valid only for these three days.
It was further stated that the 20% discount will also apply to advanced bookings but will not apply to Eid special trains.
Pakistan Railways has directed all booking offices to strictly implement this fare reduction.
It may be recalled that Pakistan Railways has announced the launch of three Eid special trains from Karachi to accommodate the surge in passengers traveling for Eid celebrations.
According to railway officials, two of these special trains will operate between Karachi and Lahore, while one will run between Karachi and Rawalpindi.
Schedule of Eid Special Trains:
March 26 – 1:00 PM: First special train departs from Karachi Cantt for Lahore.
March 27 – 8:30 PM: Second special train departs from Karachi City Station for Rawalpindi.
March 28 – 9:00 PM: Third special train departs from Karachi Cantt for Lahore.
The initiative aims to ease travel for citizens heading to their hometowns for Eid, as passenger demand significantly rises during the holiday season.
The Federal government has officially declared Eidul Fitr holidays from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 2.
Eidul Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan—a month dedicated to fasting, prayer, and reflection—is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar.
