KARACHI: Pakistan Navy and Anti-Narcotics Force have seized approximately 1,000 kilograms of drugs at the North Arabian Sea.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Navy, the drugs valued at approximately Rs247 million and were seized after an intelligence-based joint sea operation The seized drugs were subsequently handed over to Anti-Narcotics Force for further legal proceedings.
The spokesperson said the successful execution of Anti-Narcotics joint Operation is a strong demonstration of Pakistan Navy’s resolve to deter and disrupt illegal activities in maritime zones of Pakistan.
“Pakistan Navy is vigilant to counter any illegal activity along the coastline and at sea. Pakistan Navy will continue to fulfill its national responsibilities with the highest level of commitment and dedication,” it added.
Last month, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested two accused after recovering 18kg drugs from their possession in Peshawar.
ANF Peshawar and Intelligence Wing in a joint action on a tip-off near Toll Plaza, Peshawar and recovered the contraband items from a car.
In the action, 15kg hashish and three kg opium concealed in the secret pockets in the vehicle were recovered. Two accused namely Raifullah and Mursaleen Khan were taken into custody and a case under Anti-Narcotics Act was registered against them.
