Pakistan carried out intelligence-based airstrikes inside Afghanistan overnight, destroying seven militant centres, according to security sources.
Officials stated that the strikes targeted locations in the provinces of Nangarhar, Paktika and Khost. The facilities were described as being linked to “Fitna al-Khawarij” and the proscribed group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Security sources claimed that more than 80 militants were confirmed killed during the operation.
Among the sites reportedly destroyed were two newly established centres in Nangarhar, a facility identified as belonging to Maulvi Abbas in Khost, and another centre referred to as “Islami” in Nangarhar.
Additional locations allegedly linked to commanders identified as Ibrahim in Nangarhar, Mullah Rahbar in Paktika, and Mukhlis Yar in Paktika were also said to have been targeted.
No independent confirmation of the claims was immediately available.
