Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Sunday that Saudi nationals can now travel to Pakistan without a visa, extending a warm invitation for them to visit the country at their convenience.
The development came during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy at the Diplomatic Enclave in Islamabad, where both sides engaged in comprehensive discussions on bilateral relations, travel facilitation, and security cooperation.
Naqvi expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s enduring support, particularly highlighting its participation in the recent anti-narcotics conference jointly organized by Pakistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). He emphasized the significance of continued collaboration between the two nations.
The interior minister also briefed the ambassador on recent administrative reforms, including enhancements in passport issuance procedures and national identity documentation aimed at bolstering data security and minimizing misuse.
Moreover, he outlined the government’s focused efforts to combat street crime, with a particular crackdown on organized begging syndicates operating nationwide.
Ambassador Al-Malkiy reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Pakistan. He underscored the historical strength of the bilateral relationship and expressed the kingdom’s desire to broaden cooperation in strategic, economic, and social sectors.
