Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trajectory on Saturday, reaching a new milestone as rates increased by Rs 1,300 per tola in the local bullion market.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold has surged to Rs 456,162 per tola.
Per Tola (24K): Increased by Rs 1,300 to reach Rs 456,162.
10 Grams (24K): Rose by Rs 1,115, bringing the price to Rs 391,085.
The international price of gold saw a jump of $13, settling at $4,338 per ounce.
The continuous “high flight” of gold prices is being attributed to the rising costs in the international market and local economic fluctuations.
Jewelers report that the record-breaking prices are impacting buying trends, with many consumers shifting toward smaller quantities or silver.
