LAHORE: Pakistan film industry senior actor Ejaz Durrani and second husband of Malika-e-Tarannum Noor Jehan has died at the age of 88 after a long illness.
According to the family, Ejaz Durrani had been ill for a long time. After his funeral prayers, noon prayers will be offered at the Garden Town. He is most popularly known for the portrayal of Ranjha in the movie ‘Heer Ranjha’.
Ejaz Durrani was born in 1935 in a village on the outskirts of Jalalpur Jattan. He was introduced as a supporting actor in director Manshi Dal’s film ‘Hamida’, which was released in 1956.

He was also a side hero in filmmaker Dawood Chand’s Urdu film ‘Mirza Sahib’. However, his first film as a hero was in the 1957 release ‘Bada Aadmi’, which was directed by Humayun Mirza. Movies like ‘Dosti’, ‘Heer Ranjha’, ‘Sholay’ which are shocking at the box office are to his credit as a filmmaker.
