The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have strongly condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Gaza, which have resulted in over a thousand Palestinian casualties, including both deaths and injuries.
In a joint statement issued by the respective foreign ministries, the ministers warned that such actions risk escalating tensions and undermining efforts to restore peace and stability, at a time when regional and international parties are collectively working to advance the second phase of President Donald Trump’s peace plan and implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
The foreign ministers emphasised that the ongoing breaches of the ceasefire pose a direct threat to the political process and hinder efforts to create a conducive environment for a more stable security and humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
They also stressed the need for full commitment to ensure the success of the second phase of President Trump’s peace plan.
The statement urged all parties to fulfil their responsibilities during this delicate phase and exercise the utmost restraint to maintain the ceasefire.
It called for avoiding any actions that could jeopardise the ongoing process and encouraged the creation of conditions conducive to the swift restoration and reconstruction of Gaza.
The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to establishing a just and lasting peace based on the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood, in accordance with international law, relevant UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
