KARACHI: A further 3,499 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan, bringing the total death toll to 8,205.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 39 more deaths have been reported from the coronavirus and the total number of infected people has reached 406,810.
Across the country, 346,951 coronavirus patients have recovered and 51,654 are undergoing treatment. The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus is in Punjab where 3,091 people have lost their lives. 2,968 in Sindh, 1,378 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 329 in Islamabad, 97 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 169 in Balochistan, and 173 in Azad Kashmir.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 31,165, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 47,919, Sindh 1,77,625, Punjab 1,21,083, Balochistan 17,268, Azad Kashmir 7,067 and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,683 people have been affected by Corona.
In Pakistan, the death rate from coronavirus has reached 2.02 percent. Around 76 percent of those killed in coronavirus are over 50 years old. Seventy-two percent of corona patients who died from coronavirus had other diseases. Ninety-one percent of those killed in coronavirus died in hospitals. In hospitals, 58 percent of virus patients are on ventilators.

Mirpur recorded the highest number of positive cases at 27.75 percent. Muzaffarabad 23.44, Hyderabad 18.21, Azad Kashmir 21.3, Punjab 4.84, Sindh 14.04, Balochistan 11.95, Islamabad 6.62, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 5.57, Gilgit-Baltistan 3.43.
Lahore 6.19, Rawalpindi 4.83, Faisalabad 3.14, Karachi 17.95, Peshawar 18.09, Swat 5.81, Abbottabad 6.22, and Quetta have 9.09 percent positive cases. At least 70 percent of new cases in Pakistan have been reported from 5 major cities Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi.
