ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar has said that it is not necessary to ask Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial to form a commission on the leaked audios.
According to the details, in his statement, the law minister said that some of the audios revolve around the relatives of the Chief Justice, so the Commission would fall into the category of conflict of interest by asking them.
In the statement, Nazeer Tarar said that it is not necessary to form a commission by asking the Chief Justice. The Commission is empowered to investigate other matters as it deems appropriate. “If the phone-tapping agencies did it, they should also be held responsible,” he said.

The law minister added that the commission formed on the audio leaks has made it clear that its objective is to find the facts. “Any relevant matter can be reported to the commission,” he further added.
Earlier, a three-member committee consisting of the most senior judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, and Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court, started the proceedings.
On the other hand, Chairman PTI Imran Khan has challenged the formation of the commission in the Supreme Court. Imran Khan took the position that the Supreme Judicial Commission is there to investigate the judges.
