The Chief Meteorologist at the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz, has issued a forecast indicating a forthcoming spell of rain, hailstorms, and snow across the country starting from February 25.
Additionally, Karachi and parts of Balochistan are expected to experience light showers accompanied by thunderstorms during this period.
Dr. Sarfaraz emphasized that substantial rainfall, coupled with snowfall in the northern regions, is anticipated in the upcoming week due to the influence of westerly waves. He stated, “We are expecting some good rains from Feb 25, which will continue till March or may even extend to April under the influence of westerly waves.”
The Chief Meteorologist highlighted that the expected snowfall on hills in the northern areas will contribute to ending fog and smog in the country. He advised the public to take necessary precautions during these weather conditions.
Moreover, Dr. Sardar Sarfaraz delivered promising news for tourists planning to visit Swat and Chitral to enjoy snowfall. He announced that these areas will experience heavy snowfall during this period, creating an ideal environment for snow-related activities.
