A new spell of monsoon rains is expected to begin across various parts of Pakistan from August 27, with thunderstorms and strong winds forecast in several areas, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The weather is expected to remain hot and humid in Islamabad over the next one to two days, with temperatures likely to reach 36°C. However, rain accompanied by strong winds is forecast from August 27.
Karachi is also expected to remain hot and humid, with reduced sea breezes and high humidity likely to make the weather feel more intense. The city’s maximum temperature is forecast at 33°C, while humidity is expected to remain around 75%.
Most parts of Punjab, including Lahore, are also likely to experience hot and humid conditions, with temperatures in Lahore expected to reach 37°C.
In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, scattered rain is forecast in Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Torghar, Haripur and South Waziristan.
Authorities have advised citizens to take precautions during hot weather and avoid unnecessary travel during thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.
