ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Asim Saleem Bajwa and Information Minister Shibli Faraz called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Tuesday.
According to sources, matters pertaining to new assignments of Shibli Faraz and Asim Saleem Bajwa were discussed during a meeting.
Earlier, Shibli Faraz was sworn in as the federal minister in Aiwan e Sadr where President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi administered him the oath.
Senator Shibli Faraz took oath as Minister for Information and Broadcasting at President House. President Dr Arif Alvi had administered the oath at a ceremony held at President House in Islamabad.
The PTI senator, who is the son of renowned poet Ahmad Faraz, is also the Leader of the House in Senate. Shibli is also a member of committees responsible for planning and development, water and climate change.
Shibli Faraz was appointed Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting in place of Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, who headed the ministry as PM’s special assistant for a year. Dr Firdous had replaced Chaudhry Fawad Hussain in April last year.
Former Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt. General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa was appointed Special Assistant to PM on Information and Broadcasting. He was appointed as chairman of the CPEC Authority in November last year.
Saleem Bajwahas had replaced Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan as Prime Minister’s special assistant on information and broadcasting.
