Passenger transport fares in Peshawar have been revised following a continued increase in diesel prices, with the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) issuing an official notification covering various routes.
According to the notification, the revised fares came into effect on August 12. The new fare structure has been prepared in light of the increase in diesel prices and applies to passenger vehicles operating on different routes across the city.
The Regional Transport Authority said the fares were revised under an updated fare schedule to reflect the rising operating costs faced by transporters.
Authorities have directed transport operators to strictly adhere to the newly notified fares and refrain from charging passengers more than the approved rates.
The RTA has also warned that transporters found overcharging passengers will face legal action under the relevant laws.
Passengers have been advised to remain aware of the revised fare structure and report any instances of overcharging to the relevant authorities.
