While Succession, The Bear, and Beef claimed the majority of awards at the recent Emmys, the talented cast and crew of Better Call Saul experienced disappointment as they left the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles without any accolades.
In contrast, Netflix has reason to rejoice with its standout show of 2023, securing six wins that night. However, amidst this triumph, the streaming giant must console another of its successful series, Better Call Saul, which unfortunately set an undesirable record during the ceremony on January 15.
The beloved legal crime drama, concluding its six-season run in August 2022, had amassed a total of 53 Primetime Emmy nominations throughout its airing. Despite its impressive legacy, Better Call Saul made history at this year’s event by failing to secure a single award, marking it as the most overlooked TV show since the inception of the Primetime Emmys in 1967.
Despite this unprecedented snub from the Television Academy, Better Call Saul had previously garnered several awards during its run. Just last year, it clinched the titles of Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series at both the Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globe Awards.
