LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that the name of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would be removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) today.
The governor during the press conference at Alhamra Hall in Lahore, said, “Everybody is worried about Nawaz Sharif’s health but the issue should not be politicized.”
According to Sarwar, in this regard, a medical board has been constituted by the government since it was not willing to take any risks on Sharif’s health.
He further said that the Nawaz would be free to go anywhere for treatment after his name is taken off the ECL.

Nawaz Sharif was scheduled to leave for London via Qatar Airways’s commercial flight QR-629 today. However, his departure has been delayed until his name would be removed from the ECL.
Earlier in October, the Islamabad High Court granted bail to Nawaz in the Al-Azizia corruption reference, suspending his sentence for eight weeks on medical grounds.
He was formally discharged from the Services Hospital in Lahore on 6th November.
