ISLAMABAD: Authorities have closed the highways in many places due to fear of accidents caused by heavy fog in different country cities.
According to the details, the plains of Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were engulfed in fog, due to low visibility, Motorway M1 was closed from Peshawar to Rashakai.
Lahore-Islamabad Motorway M2 from Thokar Niaz Beg to Kot Momin was closed for all types of traffic. The entry of traffic from Faizpur to Durkhana on Motorway M3 was closed.
Motorways M4 and M5 are also under the rule of fog due to which the motorway from Multan to Sukkur has been closed for all types of traffic. Lahore-Sialkot Motorway was also closed.
There is a fear of terrible accidents due to reduced visibility due to fog. Motorway authorities have instructed citizens to avoid unnecessary travel. A decision will be taken to open the motorways when the fog subsides.
It should be noted that earlier in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the motorway was closed at various places due to heavy fog. Citizens were instructed not to travel unnecessarily.
Even 12 days before today, fog has settled in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Motorway M1 has been closed for all types of traffic from Peshawar to Rashakai. The entry of traffic has also been blocked at various other places.
