Mother attempts suicide after throwing three minors into well in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: A woman has attempted suicide after throwing her three minor daughters into a well over domestic dispute in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

According to sources, the distressed woman killed her daughters and later attempted to end her life due to a domestic dispute in Rawalpindi’s Gujjar Khan area.

The three minors, two of them aged six months and one six years, died of drowning and their bodies were retrieved from the well, sources added.

Soon after the incident, police and rescuers reached the spot pulled out the bodies’ minors and the woman alive. The woman was shifted to a nearby hospital where she is stated to be in critical condition.

Taking notice of the incident, CPO Ahsan Younis ordered to register a case against the woman. Later, the girls’ mother Sonia Gulfraz was taken into police custody for investigation.

Earlier, a woman had allegedly committed suicide after poisoning her thee minor children in Karachi. The woman gave poisonous juice to her three children, and later on, also took the juice herself at her house in the Gulshan-e-Hadeed area of the city.
