QUETTA: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Frontier Corps, in a joint operation have apprehended three suspected terrorists belonging to the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) from Khuzdar on Saturday.
A CTD spokesperson said on a tip-off, CTD along Frontier Corps conducted a targeted raid and arrested the terrorists. The spokesperson further said while the personnel detained the terrorists, their three accomplices managed to escape from the scene.
An AK-47 rifle, 25 kilograms of explosives, remote control devices were also seized from the hideout of the terrorists. The investigation from the arrested terrorists is underway, he said.
Earlier, two alleged terrorists belonging to a banned outfit were arrested in a raid by Counter-Terrorism Department from Bhakkar.
According to details, the detained suspects identified as Muhammad Ullah and Fazal Razzaq were involved in terror activities, said a CTD spokesperson. Donation receipts and banned literature were recovered from their possession by law enforcement officials.
CTD police station had registered an FIR against the individuals and a case has been filed to investigate the matter further. The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Lahore on November 19 had foiled a terror plot by arresting a terrorist of a banned outfit.
According to CTD sources, the terrorist identified as Liaquat was waiting for a suicide attack near Railway Station along with explosive material, from where he was taken into custody.
Citing the initial investigation the officials said the arrested criminal was plotting to attack important offices. He was shifted to an unknown place by the CTD for further investigation.
