KABUL: The World Bank has announced the suspension of aid to Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.
Since August 14, 70,700 people have been evacuated from Kabul. The World Bank spokesman said that there is deep concern over the situation in Afghanistan and the country’s development prospects, especially the impact on women. The World Bank currently has more than two dozen development projects underway in the country.

On the other hand, the US State Department said that more than 4,000 people with US passports have been evacuated from Kabul, while 70,700 people have been evacuated from Kabul since August 14.
“We are currently completing the evacuation by August 31. The sooner we finish, the better,” said the US President. The United Kingdom has evacuated 9,000 people from Kabul on 57 flights, with Boris Johnson announcing the evacuation deadline and the evacuation of thousands more, the British prime minister said.

According to US Army Major General William Hank Taylor, the United States has evacuated 63,900 people from Afghanistan since July, including civilians from Afghanistan, including US and NATO personnel.
